I have always loved this photograph of the grandfather of the bride & his granddaughter as she exits the church. Its from a Penrallt wedding & I’m so glad they chose me as their South Wales Wedding Photographer .The bride & groom live in Australia but returned to Pembrokeshire for their big day. It was clear to me from when we first met that all of her family back home were very special to her & that she missed them very much. I wanted something that showed the special relationship that she had with her grandfather & I was aware when the service began that his seating position near the aisle may have brought a moment where he and the bride would interact as she left the church so I positioned myself with him in my eyeline & as the happy couple came back from signing the register to greet their guests to my delight the she went straight to her grandfather & this special photograph happened. This to me is the perfect example of the timeless value of documentary wedding photography.
I love the way she places her arm on his shoulder & the smiles mirrored on both of their faces. I hope you like it too
