Caer Llan Wedding
This was my first Caer Llan Wedding. Its a wonderful wedding venue situated a few miles from Monmouth in the Wye Valley & the views from there are truly breathtaking.
“Such fabulous photos, Richard and I have been through them hooting with laughter! Thanks so much, you’ve captured the day brilliantly, they’re absolutely fabulous.”
My day started in the lounge area where a lot of the guests including Richard the groom were enjoying the rugby. When Sally arrived I joined her arrived her preparations along with three very excited young flower girls. Once everyone was ready all of the guests were called into the room where the ceremony was to take place & it was time for Sally to make her way down the stairs to meet her proud father waiting patiently at the bottom before he took her arm an led her into the next room.
When the time came to exchange rings Richard surprised everyone in the room with a scream of pain as the ring was placed on his finger. This was first experience of his great sense of humour & I was to witness many more occasions like this as the day went on, particularly during the speeches. A big surprise came to me when the amazing guitarist appeared just to the right of me began to play & sing “Here Comes The Sun” & I realised that I recognised his voice. It turned out to be a good friend who I hadn’t seen for many many years. Its a small world!
Sally’s uncle is a Morris dancer & it’s a tradition for the happy couple to jump over a broom to signify their leap into a new life together. This is obviously difficult in a wedding dress but Sally managed it without any mishaps.
After the first dance it was my time to leave but I had a wonderful time & am so glad that they chose me as their documentary wedding photographer.
I hope you like this selection of some of my favourite images from the day
